Budgeting for communication support is essential in the business world and is commonplace in the private sector. From time to time, private citizens are unexpectedly thrust into the public eye, often during times of personal and family crisis. Referrals are accepted from Victim Service and Police Agencies of families or individuals in such a situation who would like assistance to write a public statement. This typically one-document service is offered without charge. Acceptance is based on writer availability, and contact with referred individuals is made by one of two staff writers specifically trained in crisis services.

  • Families of victims of highly publicized sudden death
  • Families of individuals entering the criminal justice system with heavy publicity
  • Messages of gratitude to a Community


Referrals may also be accepted from the Crown Attorney or a Police Agency for assistance with Victim Impact Statements.


As with all of our services, our writer will work with the family to capture their own message, and the family will have complete ownership of the final document. Where applicable we assist the client to work with the police public information unit in ensuring that any statement that may be released will not compromise an ongoing trial or investigation.
